Meet the Hosts


Michi Michelle “Michi” Valeriano is co-host of TFC’s “Adobo Nation”. She joined the cast in December 2008.  Some of her favorite episodes include the “Scary Pets” segment, her interviews with Jess Espaniola (co-animator of the Simpsons), MMA fighter Mark Munoz, and author Miguel Syjuco. And of course, she loves the Lasang Pinoy segment at the end of every show!Michi was born and raised in Makati City and educated at Assumption College and Ateneo de Manila University.  Michi got her start in media working as a commercial and print model. In 2000, she was chosen to be a VJ for MYX Philippines.  This led to a fun and fulfilling career as a host for Studio 23 and various events including fashion shows, Miss Earth Philippines, and the Rivermaya Concert tour.

Michi moved to the U.S. in 2003. Michi currently lives in San Francisco CA with her husband. She loves reading, cooking, being in the great outdoors, and is an avid yoga and kickboxing practitioner.




JC Juan Carlos “JC” Gonzalez is co-host of TFC’s Adobo Nation.  He is one of the original hosts and joined the team when it first started in 2008.  Most common thing he hears when he bumps into pinoys on the street “Ikaw ba yung sa Adobo Nation?”.JC grew up in Manila, Philippines. He attended Ateneo de Manila University and graduated with a degree in Communication Arts.  He was a host for Studio 23.  JC hosted a news magazine show,  “Breakfast”,  a travel adventure program “Team Explorer” and a tech lifestyle show, “Digital Tour”.

JC also covered sports for the MBA, college basketball and volleyball.  He moved to the San Francisco Bay area in 2005.  He hosted a TFC show, then called “Speak Out” before hosting “Adobo Nation”.

He is currently doing sales for a startup tech company. He is a husband and a full time father of two.  San Francisco is one of his favorite cities.




Tet Tet Hernandez born Ma Suzette Erika Bandong Hernandez is a co-host of TFC’s “Adobo Nation” and joined the team in December 2010. This fun, friendly and fearless fashionista was added to the roster of respected “Adobo Nation” hosts giving the program a light, bubbly and girly twist. She enjoys talking about fashion, food and anything Filipino. She loves the chance to inspire Filipinos to keep believing in their dreams, as she is inspired herself, by the stories featured on the program.Tet earned her Bachelors Degree in Communications at the University of Santo Tomas in the Philippines. While in Manila, Tet worked behind the scenes for GMA7’s morning news and talk program “Unang Hirit”. Tet directed multiple independent films as well, some of which were featured in the prestigious Cinemalaya Independent film festival.

Tet moved to the San Francisco Bay Area in 2009 where she established herself as marketing and sales professional. She attends Christian services on Sundays and shops religiously on Saturdays. She lives by the motto, “You can never have too many friends…..or shoes.”




Lee Lee Robinson Nazareno Salazar is a co-host on TFC’s “Adobo Nation”.  He joined the team at the end of 2011.  Lee likes to talk about many informative, cultural pinoy tid-bits, and has enjoyed interviewing different interesting and successful Filipinos on the show.Lee grew up in Quezon City, Philippines. He got his start in the entertainment industry in 1992 as a dancer of the “Maneuvers” and backup dancer for Gary Valenciano during the smash hit “Hataw Tour”.   It was not too long before Lee moved into acting on TV, film and the stage.  He appeared on the classic soap opera “Mula Sa Puso” in 1997.  Lee also graced the stage in productions such as “Othello”, “Hurly-Burly”, “Promises, Promises”, and Manila’s staging of the Broadway hit, “Rent”.  His appearance on the movie “Phone Sex” was his last big screen project before moving to the U.S. in 2003.

Lee has since been in several U.S. stage productions.  In 2012, he got the lead part for a short indie film called “A Little Fire”.

Lee resides in San Mateo with his wife Katie and two daughters. When not busy performing on stage or taste testing different cuisine on “Adobo Nation”, Lee trains and helps teach kids the art of Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu, in which he is an avid competitor.



Cheena Cheena Crab joined the cast of Adobo Nation in September 2015.
Cheena’s career began as a stand-up comedienne in a comedy bar in the Philippines, where she became known for her quick wit and distinctive laugh. This led to Cheena getting her break on mainstream television career co-hosting the defunct noontime show “Wowowee,” followed by a film career.Her recent film feature “Etiquette for Mistresses” scored unprecedented popularity for its lighthearted charm, where Cheena garnered rave reviews for the emotional depth she brought to her role as Charley. This role eventually won her a Gawad Pasado Award, “PinakaPASADO sa Pangkatang Pagganap” (May Mataas na Papuri.)Cheena has served as host for an array of TFC events, including the recent MMK25’s Kuwentuhan Kapamilya with Miss Charo Santos-Concio in Toronto, Canada. One of the memorable segments that she did for the show was having a lip rejuvenation on live television as part of Skinability with Miss Abby Paclibar.

Her spot on Adobo Nation gives the rest of the world an opportunity to catch up with what her fans already know: she is down-to-earth, crazy funny and busy being a doting mom to her daughter Shawn who is also making big waves with numerous followers in social media.



Josh Joshua Reyes joined the cast of Adobo Nation in 2016, coming off the heels of college graduation. A Bay Area native, Josh was raised in San Francisco and attended San Francisco State University.He wasn’t always grounded in the United States, however. Spending part of his childhood in the Philippines, he appeared in several TV commercials for companies such as Jollibee and Safeguard Soap. One of his proudest achievements was being able to buy his parents a new bed and karaoke machine from his earnings. His main focus in the US was his studies, although he was also modeling on the side up until landing a job as a Financial Analyst.

Josh enjoys time spent in the wilderness and water. He is an avid trail seeker and has also been learning to surf in the frigid California waters. Apart from staying active physically and mentally, he enjoys playing and creating music. He believes music to be “the necessary creative outlet; binding sanity and passion.” His passion also reaches towards strengthening his knowledge and connection with Filipino language and culture, which is the greatest reason he enjoys hosting Adobo Nation.




Katrina This 5’9″ stunner joined TFC’s Adobo Nation in 2016. Katrina Jayne Dimaranan is a Bay Area native who loves to travel anywhere and everywhere. She is also known for winning the coveted title of Binibining Pilipinas Tourism (Miss Philippines Tourism) at the age of 18, where she got to travel all across the Philippines and learned and talked about the beauty of her country. Katrina also won the Best In Talent award with her soulful singing. Katrina’s love for singing encouraged her to perform at many different events, both in the Philippines and in the US, even landing a feature on a boy band’s album in Manila as well as performing a special number in front of former Philippine Vice President Jejomar Binay.

Modeling is Katrina’s forte, as she’s been modeling since she was 14, from runways for international designers, to print, and commercial, with her striking Filipino features, chocolate skin, and fierce cat walk. Being on stage often, whether to judge pageants, strut in a show, or perform for an audience eventually led to her next new love, hosting! From hosting events for beauty pageants, to hair shows, to lifestyle events, her excitement and likeable personality shines on Adobo Nation.

Katrina is currently in school pursuing her business degree, while working part-time, rocking runways and photo shoots, performing on stage, and hosting for Adobo Nation. But when this 23yr old beauty queen isn’t doing any of that, she enjoys spending time and taking care of her family, making people laugh, being active in volunteer/charity work, being outdoors, eating delicious foods, reading, and watching romantic comedies and horror movies.




Hannah Hannah Nicole Tolentino joined the cast of Adobo Nation in 2016. Born and raised in Denver, Colorado, Hannah started posting videos on YouTube when she was 15. She reviews toys called “Squishies” on her Youtube channel purplebanana25. A few of her YouTube videos have since gone viral and her channel is now sitting at over 39 million views with over 340,000 subscribers.

When Hannah turned 16 she joined her first pageant Miss Earth Philippines – CA 2013 in San Ramon, California. She won the title “Miss Teen Earth”. After graduating from high school, Hannah joined a national model search for the fashion brand Wet Seal, and in August she won the competition and was picked to be a face of the brand.

Hannah is now focusing on her YouTube channel and her career as a TV host. With hobbies such as collecting toys and sneakers, making YouTube videos and hosting, Hannah is definitely a girl of interest. She loves being able to meet all the different people on set and especially loves trying out all the exciting foods on the regular segment “Lasang Pinoy”.



LA Chicka

LA Chicka Anna Diaz currently writes, produces and hosts LA Chika, on TFC’s “Adobo Nation” that focuses on the taste, the feel and the pinoys in Southern California.She received her degree in Broadcast Communications from the University of the Philippines in 2004. After relocating to the U.S. and fresh out of college, she became a news correspondent for “Balitang America” in 2005.Prior to her LA Chika assignment, she hosted a number of Movie Premiers by Star Cinema and produced other “Adobo Nation” segments in Los Angeles.



NY Chicka

NY Chicka Monette Rivera is host and producer of NY Chika for TFC’s “Adobo Nation”.  She has worked as a news correspondent for ABS-CBN since 2003.  Monette has been covering issues, people, and events surrounding the Filipino communities in Hawaii, New York, and New Jersey.Monette has over 18 years of professional integrated communications management experience, both in the Philippines and in the U.S. She earned her degrees in Communication Arts and Marketing Management from De La Salle University in Manila.Her true passion is to connect with people, isten to their stories, and keep relationships. Monette’s genuine desire is to bring joy and encouragement to those around her.



Chicka HI

Chicka HI Born and raised in the Philippines, Angela is an Ilocano-Tagalog Pinay by heritage. By heart, she is a creative communicator who has obtained her academic degree in Broadcast Communication at the University of the Philippines Diliman in 2010, where she was awarded the scholastic distinction of Cum Laude. She carries a passion for photography, creative writing and production, blogging and singing. She lives in the exciting island of Oahu but remains to keep her heart grounded in her hometown, Manila. Integrating the warm spirit of Aloha and Mabuhay, Angela continues on sharing the experience of the interesting blend of cultures in Hawaii, while spreading the cheer in celebrating Filipino pride all over the world.
